Tianjin (Chinese: 天津; pinyin: Tiān Jīn) is one of the four municipalities under the leadership of the central government. It is the largest coastal city in northern China and is called the “Diamond of Bohai Gulf”. Its urban area is the third largest in China, ranked only after Beijing and Shanghai. Tianjin is located at the southern part of the Haihe River, 50 km to the seaside and only 120 km from the capital.
