Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Xi'an (-, L, -)
Upon arrival in Xi'an, our tour guide will meet you at Xi'an Airport or Xi'an Train Station and transfer you to your hotel byprivate car. After a short break, visit Xi'an City Wall which is considered a landmark dividing the city into the inner part and the outer part. It was built in the Ming Dynasty over 700 years ago and is the most complete ancient city wall in China.
Then, drive to Shaanxi Historical Museum--the largest comprehensive museum in the province. The museum exhibits over 3,000 unearthed historical relics and most of the exhibited items are rare treasures, showing you the splendid Chinese culture. Then, back to your hotel.
Day 2: Terracotta Warrior, Banpo Remains, Bell Tower (-, L, -)
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel after your breakfast. Then, drive to the Terracotta Warrior which is 35 km from Xi'an City and is a place that should not to be missed by any visitor to China. The museum covers an area of 16,300 sq m and is divided into three sections. Life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses arranged in battle formations are the focus at the museum. They are replicas of what the imperial guard should look like in those days of pomp and vigor. Each figure has its own facial features and expressions, clothing, hairstyle, and gesture.
Then,l proceed to Banpo Remains which is located between the Chanhe and the Bahe rivers, in the eastern outskirt of Xi'an City. The Banpo Village Remains is a typical Neolithic matriarchal community of the Yangshao Culture dating back about 6,000 years, and the earliest beginnings of the Chinese civilization traced back to then. It located mainly in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River Valley and is characterized by finly painted pottery.
Next, go to the Bell Tower which lies in the center of Xi'an City. The Bell Tower was build in 1384. But in 1582, when the city went through an expansion, people then pulled down the original bell tower and rebuilt a bell tower in the center of expanded city. The big iron Jinglong Bell on the Bell Tower was made in Ming Dynasty and it weighs 2,500 kg. It has given time to the city for more than 400 years. Nowadays, the clear and loud time-given sound on the tower in Xi'an is the recording sound of that bell. Then, back to your hotel.
Day 3: Forest of Stone Steles Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Great Mosque of Xi'an (-, L, -)
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel after your breakfast and have a nice city tour. Today, you will go to visit the Forest of Stone Steles Museum which is situated on Sanxue Street, downtown of Xi'an near the south gate of Xi'an City Wall. It once was the site of the Temple of Confucius during the Northern Song Dynasty and was first built in 1087 A.D. when some precious stone steles were moved here for safe keeping. With nearly 10,000 stelae in the collection, the museum is like an encyclopedia of ancient China.
Then visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is 4 km from the downtown of Xi'an City and was initially built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. It is 64.5 m (211.6 ft) high and is widely renowned for Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India. It is the landmark of the ancient capital city - Xi'an.
At last, go to visit the Great Mosque of Xi'an, located at the Huajue Lane on the center of the city, is the largest and best preserved of the early mosques of China. It was first built as early as the 700 A.D. in the Tang Dynasty, but the current complex layout was finished during the Ming Dynasty in the late 14th century. The mosque is a combination of traditional Chinese architecture and Islamic art and is the only one Mosque that opens to visitors in Chian. After this, back to your hotel.
Day 4: Hanyang Tomb (-, -, -)
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel after your breakfast, and then visit Hanyang Tomb. It is the Mausoleum of Jing Emperor (188 -141 BC), the fourth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, and his queen. It was built in 153 BC. Archaeologists discovered 0.6-meter-tall painted pottery figures there. Most of the figures are naked and have no arms.
Then your guide will escorts you to Xi'an Airport for your flight to next destination.
