As China's first five-star deluxe river cruise ships, the "East King" and the "East Queen", owned and managed by Hubei Orient Royal Cruise Ship Limited, are respectively started operation in August 1994 and April 1995. It is the best ship on the Yangtze River.

Both of them are 91.5 meters long and 16.4 meters wide, equipped with Finland made diesel engines, which were considered to be one of best medium engines in the world. The maximum speed in still water is 32 km per hour. While more than sixty-five percent of their luxurious interiors were imported from Europe and America, their navigation systems were supplied by a famous Japanese firm, satellite communications by a Norwegian firm and air-conditioning by Danish "Hi-Pres".

There are 2 Royal Suites on the ship, furnished in such a luxurious way that they will be able to accommodate all the kinds of VIPs in this world. There are 86 on East Queen, with a 188-square-foot of comfortable space and a large picture window. All cabins feature satellite TV, central air, direct dial phone, fully stocked mini-bar and private bathroom. The East King can efficiently serve up to 160 passengers while the East Queen up to 176. With a capacity of 120 people for dinner or seminar, the professional conference room is equipped with simultaneous interpretation, audio-visual equipment, flip charts, TV set with VCR or whiter boards upon request. Secretarial service such as photocopying, translation, typing, personal computers, fax capabilities are also available aboard. Besides of these, the ship also features elevator, gift shops, library, gym, hairdresser, clinic, business center with internet access and theatre which offers daily latest films with professional cultural performance.

With careful designs and sophisticated equipment, the East Queen matches the highest international standards of comfort and service. Guests can enjoy this outstanding service while viewing the spectacular scenery of the Three Gorges.

Day 1: Thursday (Yangtze Explorer)
Board your deluxe M.V. Yangtze Explorer Ship and settle into your comfortable outside cabin to begin your memorable cruise downstream. Depart Chongqing in the night.

Day 2: Friday (Yangtze Explorer)
This morning, a shore excursion takes you to view the magnificent 12 -story wooden pavilion, known as “the pearl of Yangtze” in scenic Shibaozhai. The balance of the day is free to explore the ship's many amenities. Tonight, you are our guests at the captain's cocktail party.

Day 3: Saturday (Yangtze Explorer)
Cruise through the first of the fabled Three Gorges: Qutang Gorge, which is framed by steep mossy cliffs. Then, sail on through Wu Gorge, celebrated for its 12 peaks. At Badong, transfer to a small cruiser for an exciting excursion on Shenlong Stream to view its breathtaking small gorges. Next, sail through Xiling Gorge, the last and most scenic of all the gorges. Finally, pass through the dramatic Three Gorges Ship Lock.

Day 4: Sunday (Yangtze Explorer)
This morning, stop at Sandouping to view the historic Three Gorges Dam project, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. Reboard the ship and sail on to Yichang where you disembark.

Upstream (Yichang->Chongqing)
Day 1: Sunday (Yangtze Explorer)
Board your deluxe M.S. Yangtze Explorer Ship and settle into your comfortable outside cabin to begin your memorable cruise upstream.

Day 2 :Monday (Yangtze Explorer)
Stop at San Dou Ping this morning to see the historic Three Gorges Dam project. Reboard the ship and sail through the dramatic Three Gorges Ship lock before continuing through Xiling Gorge, longest of the famed Three Gorges.

Day 3: Tuesday (Yangtze Explorer)
Early this morning, delight in Wu Gorge's deep zigzagging valley. At Wushan, transfer to a motorboat for an exciting excursion on either Daning River or Shennong Stream to view their breathtaking small gorges. Reboard the ship and soon pass through the dramatic grandeur of Qutang Gorge, framed by steep cliffs.

Day 4: Wednesday (Yangtze Explorer)
Today's shore excursion shows the magnificent 12-story wooden pagoda known as the "Pearl of the Yangtze" in scenic Shibaozhai.

Day 5: Thursday (Yangtze Explorer)
This morning you will cruise through now-gentle countryside to Chongqing, where you disembark the ship.
